I wanted to reorganize our kitchen cabinets, switching from plastic to glass storage containers. I checked out a handful of brands, but the great reviews, product descriptions and fair price point made me land on Essos. I bought several canisters in different sizes. Huge Bonus: There was a chart showing the dimensions of the available sizes as well as listed examples of what foods were a good fit for each size. This was really helpful with choosing sizes, which can be especially challenging when shopping online. Felt like I had a personal shopper helping me! On delivery day, I was so impressed with the packaging! The canisters were very well protected within two thick pieces of form-fitting styrofoam inside the box. Not one item was damaged! The special glass was strong, but not heavy. The lids sealed perfectly! I really liked the dark wood lids vs. the lighter colored lids I was finding with most other companies. Just gave the canisters a richer look. Stackable - another thoughtful feature. I connected with the company to ask a question and was blown away! I could not believe how quickly I got a response...and that response was from the owner, Lynn! She was incredibly nice and sincerely cared about my being happy with the products. Included in our order was a little card that shared Lynn's story behind the creation of Essos. I appreciated learning a bit about the company and love supporting small businesses. I have never experienced such great customer service! It all just made me want to support this company even more! I got everything switched over from our dingy, worn out plastic containers to our beautiful, new glass containers and could not be happier! I can clearly see exactly what we have in stock and love that everything is stored in food-safe containers. Even the silicone seal is bpa free! Great experience all around and we could not be happier! If you want a superior product and amazing customer service, Essos is where you'll find both!I think these are a great size and design. The glass is sturdy and the lid fits snug. I will say one of the lid seals seemed to be crooked almost? However it’s been over a week since I put the sugar in the container and it doesn’t seem to effect it. Overall I enjoy these. Will be buying more in different sizes.these are perfect for the space we had, we needed a smaller but functional container and these are perfect!These jars are so stylish and handsome! And they're made of high quality materials. They feel sturdy and they look attractive in my office or on my countertop. I use them to hold coffee grounds and looseleaf tea.First off let me start by saying how much I LOVE these jars! I was looking for sets that were all glass and the acacia lids just add that extra wow I was looking for.I can handle the jars one handed if need be as the glass is thicker than I expected. Happily surprised by the thickness and the suction/seal of the lids.They don’t take up too much space on my counter as they aren’t too wide and really dress up my kitchen.I had an issue with getting one of the jar sets, I needed a specific size and kept getting sent the wrong size, I contacted customer service.They were incredibly quick with their response and truly wanted to help. Never have I encountered a more diligent and caring company. They really wanted to get to the root of the issue and after a few email exchanges I got exactly the jars I needed.Can’t wait to order more jars for our bathrooms now that the kitchen is all taken care of! Or so I think ?The ones in the picture I added are all 54 fl. They hold 2lb pack of dal and have a little more air space. 2 row, 1st item in the picture shows the space left after filling it with a full 2lb pack of yellow lentil. The design + the light weight makes it easy to handle these canisters with one hand. In few days of using this product, I feel they are quite durable. Though the lids seem air tight, they are not tight enough to be carried by the lid. So always carry/hold the canister by its body. I initially got 1 set of these and one of lids didn't fit well. When I enquired about replacement lids, the seller offered to send me another set free of charge + a couple of replacement lids and the replacements arrived the next day which was very impressive. As I really liked the product, I went ahead and ordered 4 more sets.Nice to haves:- sell the replacement lids separately.- have more size options. Looking for smaller sizes (16 oz/ 18 oz).- have the ability to just order multiple pieces of a single size. I want to get the 22oz or 44oz size but they are not sold separately.Update- 3/10/21 Both jars have broken. I do nothing exceptional with them except put sourdough starter in them. First one broke a year ago. Tonight, I emptied the jar and put it in the sink. I ran water as usual. Then I put my spoon into the jar, put, not drop, put. I heard a weird noise and sure enough water came running out of the jar. Huge crack up the side, chunk of glass out the bottom of the side. Pictures show what I'm talking about, that's sourdough still in the jar. I'm so disappointed. Now I have no jars for my starter. I don't mix my starter up in the jar, I mix in a bowl and use a spatula to push into this jar. Or I did.Original review*These jars are perfect for what I purchased them for, although I only need 1 lid with no seal. I'm making my own sourdough starter and these jars are the perfect size. They're a nice thickness, I'm not afraid of accidentally breaking one by banging my spoon inside. I think rice, beans, coffee, cocoa, anything would look good in these. The 2nd jar sits atop the 1st, there's a lip around the wooden lid. To me, the jar would be fine sitting atop, it won't slide off. You could knock it off, however you could knock a plastic stackable also. These come very well packaged. The jars are inside a box that has a thick formed soft styrofoam "box" that holds the jars and lids. I was really pleased to see such care taken to package these jars. I would highly recommend!They are exactly as shown, great quality. Lids have air tight silicon seal and look awesome. They come packaged well with thick styrofoam that ensure the jars not broken or damaged. They look attractive and elegant on the counter. Bonus thing, they come with a pen and adhesive sticker that you can write what you store in it. Highly recommended and i will buy more !It is air tight and beautiful! I use it for my coffee beans/ ground coffee & sugar
